Welcome to the Union of Vietnamese Student Associations of Southern California’s Anh Chi Em Mentorship Program website.
It is with great honor and pleasure to be the UVSA ACE Mentorship Chair for the 2016 – 2017 for its revival term after its four year hiatus.
The UVSA’s Anh Chi Em Mentorship program focuses on mentorship for high school and college students from all over Southern California reaching areas from Santa Barbara to San Diego. As a mentorship program, under UVSA, we fulfill the pillars of the organization through cultural, social, educational, and civic engagement.
Our current mentorship program has 14 mentors,28 mentees, and five staff members for our high school program and a college program with 13 intercollegiate mentorship chairs from universities within our union. As a community, we work together to ensure that our mentors and mentees continue to develop strong and healthy sibling type relationship through our social, cultural, educational, and community excursions.
Our motto for our program is “ Each one, Each Teach” picked by our founding leaders to show that mentorship works as a supportive and teaching system for both the mentors and mentees. As individuals, we hope everyone will use this opportunity for personal, academic, and social growth. We are excited to come back with new programing and events for the upcoming year. 0ur programing includes: our ACE Sessions as a tutoring program to help our mentees with their educational needs in common subjects, cultural excursion around Southern California, workshops to help with future career building for our mentees, and much more.
Thank you to all our supporters for making our program possible!
